GCSE and IGCSE Chemistry
Edexcel, AQA, OCR, CIE, WJEC
This one day course is suitable for all students studying Triple Science who have been entered into the single science Chemistry examination.
It is not suitable for students studying Combined Science: Trilogy. Please visit the Combined Science: Trilogy page to find more details regarding this course.
We will clarify areas of a subject that are of most concern to individual students based on a detailed analysis of their requirements before the course. This will ensure that our tutors design a bespoke programme and cover relevant examination questions and techniques during the course.
Our one day course will cover the following specific areas:
Atomic structure and the periodic table including transition metals, alloys and corrosion, halogens, noble gasses
Bonding, structure and the properties of matter and mixtures including ionic compounds, simple and small molecules, giant covalent molecules, metals, non-metals, nanoscience and nonoparticles
Quantitative chemistry including calculations, atom economy, percentage yield, gas calculations
Chemical changes and reversible reactions including reactions of metals, acids, alkalis, salts, titrations, electrolysis, separation and purification
Energy changes including exothermic and endothermic reactions, chemical cells
Organic chemistry including crude oil, hydrocarbons, alkanes, polymers, alcohols and carboxylic acids
Chemistry of the atmosphere and resources including developing the atmosphere, polluting the atmosphere, fuels, sustainable development, water, ways of reducing the use of resources, using materials fertilisers, industrial processes, chemical cells and fuel cells
